May 2025 - Painting of the Month

I’m writing to share a few new pieces with you that I’ve painted in May. First is Blue Wall. Or heck, I might call it Blue Tuesday based on my husband Bart’s suggestion. Or how about Blue Window! I painted a smaller version of this last year that was 10x10 inches. This one is double the size at 20x20 inches, well really quadruple the size if you do the math.

In May, I also painted this dog portrait of Henry. It’s such an honor to do pet portraits for people!

There’s a group of photographers that generously shares landscape reference photos, and every month they have a fun challenge where artists paint from one selected reference photo. I participated in the challenge, and this is the painting I did. For me, the challenge is like a game (I love games), and it inspires me to paint something new! Truth be told, this one is from the April challenge.
