March 2025 - Painting of the Month

In October, after Open Studios, I visited Capitol Reef National Park for 5 days. Inspired by the red rocks and the yellow cottonwood trees, I took many photos and came home and painted! One of my paintings, “Morning Light at Capitol Reef” recently won “Best of Show” at the “Art from the Heart” juried fine art exhibit at the College Hill Library in Westminster, CO. First time I’ve won a prize, and I’m very humbled and flattered!

At Capitol Reef, my husband and I camped at the campground and we did several day hikes. Did you know you can buy small pies every day at a little building right next to the campground?! Now that’s what I call glamping!
